This position requires rotating shifts at any Atlantic Cape Community College location. This is an “essential staff” position in accordance with college policy and the bargaining unit agreement. It requires duties to be performed in all weather and emergency conditions.

Duties:
  • Reports to the Director of Security and Public Safety
  • Performs main and satellite campus duties in cooperation with on-site management
  • Performs functions related to securing college property
  • Conducts periodic patrols of all buildings and grounds
  • Uses a watch tour system to verify a check of each station
  • Reports all unusual conditions
  • Monitors and operates all alarm systems
  • Monitors Building Management System and Building Surveillance System
  • Insures that buildings and overall facilities are adequately secured
  • Investigates motor vehicle accidents within the limits of the college campus
  • Provides emergency first-aid as needed
  • Investigates various campus incidents and files complete written reports
  • Participates in first-aid and CPR training
  • Provides basic customer relations services
  • Meets, greets and directs students and campus visitors
  • Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified in CPR & First Aid or earn certification within 60 days of hire
  • Experience within public safety in a higher educational setting preferred 
  • Must pass an employment physical examination administered through the college’s health office
  • Must have a telephone, reliable transportation and a valid N.J. driver’s license
  • Must not possess criminal record
